The COVID pandemic has been a challenge for everyone, but more so for residents living in continuing care settings across the province. Lanice Garroich, Finance Assistant with Homeland Housing wanted to do something to brighten our resident’s day.
She reached out to her two nieces, owners of Sugar Chicks Cupcakes, and together they made themed cupcakes to celebrate Mothers and Fathers’ Day. The cupcakes were a hit, “and it was so nice to see the smiles on the resident’s faces, even the guys were fighting over the cupcakes” said Garroich.
Residents were impressed with the kind gesture with one resident commenting that it brightened her day knowing that people cared about them.
