On Saturday April 30th Spruce View Manor in Gibbons was happy to have its first community event in 2022. The staff and residents at Spruce View Manor were very excited to welcome friends, family and community to the lodge following the challenges presented by COVID.
The Open House event was a great opportunity to reconnect with the community of Gibbons and surrounding area and give families of prospective residents a chance to tour the lodge, to be a part of activities taking place in the games room and join the current residents for an afternoon of live entertainment, refreshments, and desserts. Everyone enjoyed showcasing Spruce View Manor and one resident commented “it is so nice to show other people how much fun we have here, and how beautiful it is”. Those taking a tour received a monthly calendar showing the games, art projects, live entertainment, and events that the residents get to enjoy and also a copy of the menu cooked by our in-house Red Seal Chef!
In addition to touring the lodge, visitors were able to get a look inside the newly renovated Dew Drop Inn which offers weekly programs, clubs, and social events for both Spruce View residents and the seniors of Gibbons. Spruce View staff are grateful to everyone who joined them for the day and are looking forward to hosting many more events throughout the year.
